Backend Developer OR Cloud Architect

Some of our most recent work includes build­ing cloud backends and archi­tec­tures for fin­an­cial insti­tu­tions, health­care sec­tor, retail, and logist­ics. Machine learn­ing, data ana­lys­is, and data pipelines are also things our developers work on reg­u­larly. The daily work of our backend developers con­sists of design­ing and build­ing infra­struc­tures, microservices, and scal­able backends. So real, heavy, hands-on pro­gram­ming. That’s what we do. Being con­sult­ants and experts in our field, we also con­sult our cus­tom­ers on the best tech­no­lo­gies and solu­tions, usu­ally already in the sales phase of the pro­ject. But the main part of the work is being a developer, work­ing closely with the cus­tom­er.

Responsibilities

Your pre­vi­ous GCP exper­i­ence ensures that you will be eas­ily absorbed into our pro­jects. If you’re new to GCP, not to worry! You’ll get a chance to learn more and get cer­ti­fied. And there are a lot of col­leagues to help you along the way. In addi­tion to cod­ing, you will be ment­or­ing your juni­ors, as well as arran­ging and attend­ing tech events. And if you feel like shar­ing your know­ledge in our meetups, you’re more than wel­come to host and present.

We’ll provide you with tools and oppor­tun­it­ies to devel­op your skills fur­ther, as well as the free­dom to come up with your own ways to cre­ate infra. You will also have the oppor­tun­ity to cre­ate your own devel­op­ment path as a pro­fes­sion­al. Our coach­ing pro­cess sup­ports you if you want to be a backend-developer-turned-into-a-cloud-archi­tect, or, e.g. get more heav­ily into data sci­ence. No mat­ter what your pos­i­tion in our backend team would be when you arrive at Qvik, you can be sure that there are a lot of devel­op­ment pos­sib­il­it­ies avail­able.

What we’re looking for

You’re either a seni­or level backend mas­ter or on your way there. You know your way around the essen­tials such as Node.js, Python and its frame­works, and Go. You prob­ably have pre­vi­ous exper­i­ence in GCP or AWS cloud solu­tions, even cer­ti­fic­a­tions, or at least have the hun­ger to learn. You may already be famil­i­ar with man­aged plat­forms. You enjoy build­ing and design­ing infra­struc­tures and are on fire when talk­ing about any­thing run­ning on the App Engine.

If you already are an archi­tect or aim at becom­ing one, you prob­ably have a deep under­stand­ing of, among oth­ers, net­work design, server­less design pat­terns, con­tain­er orches­tra­tion (Kuber­netes, Dock­er), cloud-nat­ive archi­tec­ture designs and man­aged ser­vices. Your pro­gram­ming skills are on a seni­or level, and you want to keep your hands on the key­board in the future, as well. For you, orches­trat­ing con­tain­ers instead of serv­ers is the best thing and microservices the way to go.

You want to work in a team, be a good col­league and deeply under­stand the needs of a cus­tom­er.

You enjoy building and designing infrastructures and are on fire when talking about anything running on the App Engine.If you already are an architect or aim at becoming one, you probably have a deep understanding of, among others, network design, serverless design patterns, container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), cloud-native architecture designs and managed services. Your programming skills are on a senior level, and you want to keep your hands on the keyboard in the future, as well. For you, orchestrating containers instead of servers is the best thing and microservices the way to go.You want to work in a team, be a good colleague and deeply understand the needs of a customer.
